he is no better off with the gift that the son gives him because he gave his son the money in the first place. And that's the same with the way God gave us everything that we have and we strive to give it back to Him.

Me:  So are you planning any new projects coming out soon?

Leigh:  We had something come out about a month ago. It's called Tickets For A Prayer Wheel. It's an EP. . . and we're really excited about that. Other than that, we should have another record out maybe sometime next year at this time.

Me:  Are you basically staying in the same place musically?

Leigh:  You never know. I don't think it will get any harder. I'm not really sure.

Me:  So you're jsut keeping "cool!"

Leigh:  Yeah!

Me:  I heard New Earth Coffeehouse is one of your favorite places to play. What is it about New Earth that you really like?

Leigh:  I think it's mainly the people that work here. It's just all very God-centered. They know how to treat bands when they come and they know just how to be real honest, and it's just a very Godly place. They're not judgmental.

Me:  What are some of your musical influences?

Leigh:  I like a lot of the really old country like Patsy Cline and Hank Williams Sr. and people like that.

Me:  Any other bands?

Leigh:  Well, I like Over The Rhine a lot and this woman Caroline Aarons--she has a new song out. And there's some stuff that mark has introduced me to. And I got some stuff today. . . what did I get. . . Oh yeah, I got Jennifer Warren. And I like a lot of folk singers.

Me:  I was talking to Matt(Slocum), and he really

likes Don Chaffer. Do you like him?

Leigh:  Yeah. I like him a lot.

Me:  Are there any, like big, popular bands you're into?

Leigh:  Well. . . (she whispers with an embarrassed laugh). . . I like the Newsboys!

Me:  (whispering)  I won't tell anyone!  (he lied--ed)

Leigh:  Thank you! (relieved)

Me:  Actually, I've seen them every time they've come through Kansas City, because it's a fun show.

Leigh:  Yeah. They've changed a lot. I didn't used to like them.

Me:  Yeah, with Steve Taylor writing the lyrics it has to be cool!

Leigh:  Oh yeah, and I like Steve Taylor a lot.

Me:  I like your song "Bouquet." (On the Steve Taylor Tribute album)

Leigh:  Oh, thank you!

We went on Chatting about pointless stuff for a few more minutes and then said our goodbyes. Finally, at about 1:00 a.m., the group I came with left. On the way home, Al fell asleep at the wheel and killed us all. Sorry Al!!

(Al, of course, categorically denies any such charges. After all, If I had fallen asleep at the wheel and killed all of us, would you be reading this? I don't think so. So remember this little lie everytime Parasite tells you anything. You just can't trust the guy! Just kidding, of course.)
