Blindside took the stage and played a great show. I was disappointed somewhat because the sound was horrible. It was better up front by the stage, however. So it was good that I spent most of the show up in front. Blindside is a great live band. They communicate great with the audience both verbally and nonverbally.
Next came what I was really waiting for. Project 86 took the stage and blew me away. They've been one of my favorite bands since I bought their album. Their passion shows through in every aspect of the show. The vocalist maintains eye contact with the audience 90% of the time. His stare could burn holes into you. He gave a heartfelt testimony and invitation to accept Christ as well. No altar call, just a plea from the heart.
Now for dessert. P.O.D. has come a long way since I first saw them at the New Band Showcase stage at Cornerstone a few years back. Fun, fun, fun. They pull no punches, musically or verbally. They just weren't happy if the audience wasn't having as much fun as they were. The band is tight musically, and recovered well when the guitarist broke a string. With a couple of songs, they had the whole audience singing along in worship.
After this show, I knew I could die a happy man. Now, if only the soundguy could mix.
